1. Hello Martin! For how long have you been using Photoshop?
11-12 years
2. What made you feel that ”this is the thing”, I’m going to learn everything I can about this?
I started learning Photoshop at a time when my photography business was beginning to recover and expand again and I wanted to do things differently, with an eye to the future. I simply found Photoshop to be a most absorbing program and wanted to learn everything about it.
The other thing that made me want to learn how to use Photoshop was as a consequence of a bad experience at a lab where they just weren’t interested in trying to make good colour prints. We had to submit inferior prints to meet our deadline and I swore I would never trust anyone again to process my images.
3. What’s your favourite piece of equipment?
My Canon EOS 1Ds MkII camera
4. Favourite tool that can never ever be removed from Photoshop?
The clone stamp tool. I love the healing brush, but you can’t do everything with the healing brush, the clone stamp is still indispensable with every image that I have to retouch.
5. What to you do with your own vacation photos? Do you edit them?
If my wife will let me, I like to take lots of photographs when we are on vacation and some of these do end up being used in my books, so there are pictures there from trips to places like South Africa and Australia. So of course I edit them. And it is also good practice to see how it makes you use Photoshop differently compared to studio shots of models.
But even excitable photographers like myself learn to discipline themselves to not always take photographs. It is often nice to put the camera down and ‘experience’ somewhere, rather than always photograph it!

du är verkligen bäst på det här. :)
